Rumors Of Missouri State And Old Dominion Got Invites For Conference USA

I have been reading from several forums and websites including tweets that these two schools got an invite to C-USA starting 2012 -2013 season. I am beginning to wonder if this rumor is true or not. I would say no, but then I remember reading that the schools of the Big East and the Eastern C-USA conferences are not really happy where they are at, and would look for someplace else. If this is the case? We could see schools like West Virginia, Pittsburgh, Louisville, Cincinatti, Rutgers, East Carolina, UCF and Memphis to leave and joined forces to form a new conference. They could bring in schools like Troy, UAB, FAU, FIU and Middle Tennessee State from the Sun Belt conference to join them, and also schools like Toledo, Miami, ohio, Temple and Buffalo as well. But not all of them. Big East could try and snag Memphis, Houston and Rice including the upgrade of Villanova. They could also snag Delware and U. Mass. along with VCU, NC-Charlotte and some others. Now, C-USA needs to refill the teams they have lose like North texas, La. Tech, La.-Monroe, Arkansas State and New Mexico State. They could even add schools like Texas State, UTSA, Lamar, Sam Houston State, SFA, Central Arkansas and Missouri State. The new Southwest C-USA would look closely like the old Southwest conference, but including Louisianna, Oklahoma and Missouri schools. Not a bad rumor to think about Missouri State to add. Springfield is a big town. Bigger than some of the AQ schools. have a population around the area, and could help the school financially by bringing in more money, save some money, and would bring back rival team in Tulsa for all sports. The down side will be that they would have some losing seasons, but will improve. I have noticed that when they played some BCS schools that they almost pull off upsets like they did with Arkansas. I would say go for it since there are lack of schools at the higher levels for football.

As the rumors go, UCF, Memphis, Temple, Houston, SMU all went to the Big East.

Old Dominion's rumor came true. They got an invite, but will not join until later.

C-USA took North Texas, Florida International, La. Tech and UTSA, and Old Dominion and NC-Charlotte.

Sun Belt took Texas Stae UTA, and Georgia State to replace their lose. South Alabama was already in the SBC for all sports except for football.
